Process heat for the production of pallet elements and blanks, Lithuania
We turn wood-processing by-products from Juodeliai’s production into process heat for lumber drying. The on-site energy plant supports increased production capacity and can expand as Juodeliai’s future energy needs grow.
Industrial cooling for the dairy industry, Estonia
Gren provides industrial cooling for E-Piim’s Paide dairy complex through a high-efficiency cooling system. Waste heat from the cooling process is recovered for building heating, while Gren takes long-term responsibility for the cooling energy supply.
Heat for malt production, United Kingdom
The biomass plant supplies renewable heat for malt kilning at Muntons’ Bridlington maltings. Using locally sourced woodchip, the solution supports reliable process heat while significantly reducing emissions from the malting process.
Heat, steam and power for plywood production, Estonia
Woodchips from Metsä Wood’s plywood production are used at Gren’s nearby combined heat and power plant. Heat, steam and electricity are supplied back to the mill, connecting production residues with the mill’s energy needs.
Heat and steam for whisky production, United Kingdom
The Wick energy plant supplies heat and steam to the adjacent Old Pulteney Whisky Distillery, supporting production of its malt Scotch whisky. The plant uses sustainably sourced virgin woodchip from the local region and also supplies heat to a district heating network serving 255 residential and commercial customers.
