16.03.26

As of the beginning of 2026, Urmo Heinam has been appointed CEO of Gren in the Baltics. Urmo makes the transition to this operational role from his position as a Member of the Gren Board of Directors, a role he has held since July 2021, ensuring strong continuity with the company’s strategy.

Urmo has extensive leadership experience in the Baltic energy sector. In his career he has  served as CEO of Adven Baltics and held managerial roles at Eesti Energia and Skanska EMV.  His experience at Eesti Energia, where he led development activities including significant waste-to-energy (WtE) and wind energy projects, is particularly noteworthy. He’s experience aligns strongly with Gren’s strategic focus, including the ongoing development of the Waste-to-Energy project in Riga.

Commenting on his appointment, Urmo Heinam stated: “Gren is a lean organisation with a strong presence across the region that has consistently been performing above expectations. Energy markets in the Baltics are evolving rapidly, providing Gren opportunity to continue delivering growth that outperforms the market. Looking ahead, profitable growth remains our clear focus, built on the inspiring work of our people. Their dedication and contribution are what drive our results and move us forward every day.”

Urmo holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and Management from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), and environmental topics are at the heart of his work.
