Leading the Next Phase of Growth in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Gren Group Oy has announced the appointment of Urmo Heinam to the position of CEO of Gren Baltics. In his new role, Heinam will assume full responsibility for Gren’s business operations across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Urmo Heinam has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Gren Group since July 2021, a period during which he has overseen the company’s highly successful organic and M&A growth in the region. His appointment ensures leadership continuity and reinforces Gren’s strategic focus on the Baltic energy market, a geography of key importance to the company.
Urmo Heinam brings extensive leadership experience from the Baltic energy sector. Throughout his career, he has served as CEO of Adven Baltics and held managerial roles at Eesti Energia and Skanska EMV. His background is noted for leading significant development activities in waste-to-energy (WtE) and wind energy projects, which aligns strongly with Gren’s strategic focus, including the ongoing WtE project in Riga and its Industrial Energy Services (IES). Heinam holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering and Management from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), and environmental topics remain at the heart of his work.
“Gren Baltics is a highly professional and efficient organization with satisfied customers and employees,” said Urmo Heinam. “It has a strong presence across the region and has consistently performed above expectations during the past years. Energy markets in the Baltics are evolving rapidly which provides Gren with opportunity to continue delivering growth that outperforms the market. Looking ahead, profitable growth remains our clear focus, built on the inspiring work of our people. Their dedication and contributions are what drive our results and move us forward every day.”

Matti Viljo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, commented on the appointment: “I am very happy that Urmo accepted the CEO position for Gren Baltics. He has played an instrumental role as a Board member, overseeing the development of Gren’s Baltic business since 2021. He knows the market, customers, business partners and Gren inside out. He is perfectly positioned to lead Gren to the next level in the Baltics.”
